How to recognise an affiliate link

Affiliate links on this site are the buttons and calls to action that send you to the platform. They route through an internal address beginning /go/ and carry rel="sponsored nofollow", which is the machine-readable way of saying the same thing this page says in words. Ordinary text links inside an article — to a regulator's register, to another page on this site — are not affiliate links and earn nothing.

What the arrangement does not buy

Commission does not buy a verdict, a score, a placement or a deleted paragraph. The register facts are the register's, the complaint patterns are the users', and the parts we could not verify stay marked as unverified whether or not a page carries a partner link. No advertiser sees a page before it is published, and no partner has editorial approval over this site.

The practical safeguard is that the reviews are built to be checked against sources you can open yourself. Where we state a licence fact, the public register is the place to confirm it. Where we decline to state a number, that is the disclosure working, not an omission.

Why disclose at all

Because a review site that earns from the thing it reviews has a conflict of interest, and the honest response to a conflict is to name it rather than hide it. Consumer-protection rules in several of the markets this site is read in require exactly that, and we would do it regardless.
